Officers arrived at the scene and found a brick with DIAMANT written on it. They suggested the brick contained one kilogram of drugs, and the suspicion was confirmed.
While examining the scene, the police officers found 15 more packages on the shore. Their total cost is estimated at about $400,000.
Police officials told local media that the bricks of cocaine had been washed ashore by strong waves caused by Hurricane Dorian approaching the coast.
The evidence has been handed over to the US Custom and Border Protection, which will investigate the case.
