Winds knock down about 150 trees in Moscow

According to RIA Novosti citing Moscow Deputy Mayor Pyotr Biryukov, strong winds knocked down about 150 trees and damaged 40 vehicles in Moscow.
Weather experts predicted heavy rains and winds gusting to 25 m/s for August 8 and 9. During that period, Moscow saw 26mm of rain. Emergency services were on high alert and managed to avoid flooding and traffic disruptions.
People were warned about the weather conditions. Experts urged people to stay indoors and avoid parks and public gardens. Fortunately, the squally winds did not damage residential buildings and did not injure Moscow residents and guests to the capital.
