Residents of at least five Turkish provinces (Diyarbakir, Malatya, Erzurum, Elazig, and Gaziantep) saw a meteor explode in the night sky, according to local media.
The green fireball appeared in the sky at around 8:15 p.m. local time and then flashed several times as it approached the ground. Footage from bystanders and surveillance cameras is available online.
The fireball fragments appear to have fallen in the southeastern province of Şanlıurfa.
