Faxai is the fifteenth typhoon since the beginning of the year. It has formed in the Pacific Ocean and is now moving east.
Japanese airlines had to cancel 124 flights in the capital and in country’s east on Monday. The typhoon’s center was near the Narita and Haneda airports, so they saw the major changes in the flight schedule.
Rail companies also had to cancel morning trains. Hurricane-force winds and heavy rains have already moved to other regions, so trains in the capital depart and arrive on schedule.
Typhoon Faxai did not affect underground transport. The Tokyo subway is running as normal.
