Sky over Florida turns purple because of Hurricane Dorian

Last week, residents of Florida witnessed an unusual natural phenomenon caused by Hurricane Dorian. At sunset, the sky turned purple.
«The sky transformed from gray clouds to a burnt orange to a beautiful violet that continued to become even more vibrant as minutes passed,» said an eyewitness from Jacksonville, Florida’s largest city.
Many photos and videos of the purple sunset were posted online, and commentators were amazed by the beauty of the sky. Some Internet users compared the phenomenon to the main character in Oscar Wilde’s novel The Picture of Dorian Gray, calling it beautiful and terrifying.
