It is found in North America. The caterpillars feed on maple leaves. The moths are generally nocturnal.

It is one of the world’s most beautiful butterflies. It takes about four days for the eggs to hatch. After hatching, a caterpillar eats its way out of its egg, and then starts eating the leaves. At this stage, it is getting nutrients to turn into a pupa. The entire caterpillar stage lasts around 14 days.

This harmless creature lives in the Central and South American tropics. The caterpillar grows to a length of about 2.5 centimeters.
