Robot Artem to replace robot Fedor

Robot Fedor that was sent to the ISS in August «will not be sent anywhere else», according to a representative of Roscosmos. High hopes were pinned on the robot but it turned out to be very ‘clumsy’.
Fedor is being upgraded into robot Artem (Automatic Research and Testing Machine).
Fedor was initially intended for rescue operations. It was expected to be one of its kind, capable of moving on all fours. A video was posted online showing Fedor catching a screwdriver at the International Space Station.
The updated version, robot Artem, will be able to press buttons, according to Alexander Bloshenko, a representative of Roscosmos. It will be sent to space aboard the Orel spacecraft, the test flight of which is scheduled for 2023.
