These countries were included in the list compiled by Aviasales flight search engine based on the analysis of Ministry of Foreign Affairs reports containing warnings of the situation abroad, statistics of the Russian Union of Travel Industry, and personal experience of travelers who agreed to share their stories.
Brazil was mentioned due to the difficult crime situation and social stratification, Turkey because of the large number of Russians killed there (according to the Russian Union of Travel Industry, 19 Russians died there in 2018), and India due to poor air quality and unsanitary conditions.
Vacationers were also dissatisfied with Indonesia, as the region is prone to earthquakes, tsunamis, volcanic eruptions, and outbreaks of Dengue fever.
As for European countries, the list included France. Tourists were afraid of protests and riots there.
According to Lenta.ru, in February, experts of the Russian Union of Travel Industry announced the main causes of death of Russians on vacation. Most often, travelers die in accidents (including road accidents and mountain hikes).
