Temporary snow cover of up to 10cm forms in Central Russia

A southern cyclone brought heavy precipitation to European Russia. Southern regions saw precipitation in the form of rain, while middle latitudes had rain and wet snow. The Ryazan, Vladimir, Nizhny Novgorod, and Ivanovo regions had 30 to 70 percent of a month’s worth of precipitation in one day.

A temporary snow cover formed at near-zero temperatures. On Monday morning, the snow depth reached 6cm in Vladimir and 3cm in Ivanovo and Kostroma. The deepest snow cover (10cm) was recorded by Kologriv weather station in the Kostroma region.
